Your choice of printer will largely depend on the volume of labels you require. Generally, both printers have quick production time, but thermal printers with heat transfer ribbons will be more durable. However if you’re looking for a short term labelling on perishable items in retail for example, your most cost-effective option is ribbon-free direct thermal printing.
